Laurentian Conference Gathering May 25 Camp Vermillion
Gather in Voyageur Lodge beginning at 9:30am for coffee & fellowship. At 10:00am, we will have worship, announcements, and hear from this month’s speaker, Rachel Berry, professor and NEMN Vice President on the Art of Connecting. Following our presentation, we will enjoy pizza from the brick fire pizza oven. Please consider bringing a donation to help cover the cost of lunch. If you could let me know if you will be attending and of any dietary needs by Friday, May 19th, that would be very helpful so the VLM staff can prepare accordingly.
Rachel’s presentation overview:
A connection forms when people feel heard, seen, understood, and valued. When people feel connected, relationships are able to be built and strengthened. The foundation of connection is communication that intentionally seeks to build relationships. We’ll explore how communication generally works, the key communication skills of self-disclosure and active listening, and a formula for helping to encourage people to express themselves in helpful ways, especially during conflict.
Looking forward to being together in God’s great Northwoods! Please feel free to reach out with any questions or dietary concerns.
