Call Process Resources
The synod office supports the work of Call Process in the ELCA, assisting and engaging their congregations, church-related organizations, rostered ministers and candidates for rostered ministry in a time of thoughtful assessment and prayerful discernment about their work together in ministry and mission. Each bishop is responsible for the way the Call Process is managed within their respective territory. When a pastor or deacon retires or resigns from their call, the congregational president contacts the synod office.
The Bishop’s Associate for Leadership will walk with the congregational council through the interim and call process, focusing on the needs of the congregation in the interim time, as well as discernment for the next call process.
