Settled is a team that has developed a research-based approach to solving homelessness through supportive communities called sacred settlements, which operate in partnership with faith communities on their land. This year Minnesota passed legislation in support of sacred settlements. Lutheran Advocacy Minnesota, supported by a number of ELCA conferences, submitted a resolution to the Northeastern Minnesota Synod which passed at the Spring Assembly encouraging congregational participation in these sacred communities through education about homelessness, hosting settlements on their property, receiving both monetary and in kind gifts to help in the ongoing work with such communities, helping build or furnish a tiny house, providing volunteers, or helping provide an occasional communal meal or activity for a Sacred Settlement.

On August 13, 2023 all are invited to come to Trinity Lutheran Church (1108 E.8th Street, Duluth) to learn and wonder with Settled team members, nonprofit groups addressing homelessness, legislative leaders, and area interfaith congregations about how our congregations and community members can cultivate home with individuals who have experienced homelessness.
